Serpio in 10 minutes: from website address to first article

Serpio has one path from an empty account to a published article: analyze the site, confirm what it should write about and how it should sound, generate a draft, review it, then publish or export. This guide walks that path once. Each stage has its own guide if you want the detail.

Stage 1: Enter your website address

There are two doors. On the landing page, the hero field reads Your website, e.g. acme.com with a Start free button. If you are signed out, Serpio sends you to sign up first and carries the address along, so the analysis starts the moment you land in the dashboard. If you are already signed in, the dashboard shows Add your first website with a Website URL field and an Analyze site button. Type the bare domain. Serpio adds https:// for you.

Stage 2: The analysis runs

The screen switches to Analyzing your website with a six-step rail: Connect, Discover, Review, Score, Synthesize, Done. The status line under the heading reads Connecting to site, Checking discoverability, Reviewing page quality, Scoring readiness, Preparing report, then Finalizing. A site preview card fills in with your name, description, and icon as Serpio reads the homepage. The footer says it plainly: analysis continues in the background, so you can switch sites or come back later. Sidebar items stay locked until it finishes. Stage 3: Guided setup

When the analysis completes, Home becomes a three-step setup labelled Meet your site, Review focus, and Your voice. The steps save as you go.

   Meet your site

   A summary of what the analysis learned, plus four tiles: Pages synced, SEO score, AI citation, and Readiness. These are audits of your current pages, not forecasts. Press Review content focus to continue.

   Review focus

   Serpio proposes a primary content focus and up to two secondary ones, each with a cluster, a name, and seed keywords. Edit them, then press Confirm & prepare ideas. Until you do, idea preparation stays off and generation is blocked. See Reviewing your content focus.

   Your voice

   Three questions: 1. Who is this for?, 2. How should it sound?, and 3. What should it never mention?. Pick from the suggestions or type your own, then press Save & continue. See Setting your voice.

The final screen says You're all set and offers Generate my first article or Go to dashboard. If you press Review later at any point, Home shows a Finish setting up strip with a Resume setup button, and the generate controls stay disabled until you finish.

Stage 4: Pick an idea or bring your own topic

Home now shows the Idea workbench. The first time, it reads Preparing your first 10 ideas while Serpio researches each confirmed focus and checks sources. This can take a few minutes. Once tiles appear, each one has a star to save it and a Use idea button. Opening a tile shows Idea details with Generate article, Plan idea, and More details for the angle, reader benefit, and supporting sources.

You do not have to wait for ideas. Enter your own topic or the Generate now button in the Home header opens the Generate article dialog. It pre-fills a TOPIC and shows where it came from, such as From your selected idea. Set TONE, STYLE, and TARGET LENGTH (600 to 1,800 words), optionally expand Editorial direction · optional, then press Generate. Serpio queues the job and opens its progress in Articles. One completed article uses one credit. Failed attempts do not.

Stage 5: Review, approve, then publish or export

Drafts land in Articles with the status Draft and count under To review on Home. Open one to reach the article workspace: the body is editable, Preview shows the reader view, and the side panel shows the SEO and GEO scores, evidence, and internal links. Treat the scores as a structure checklist. They say nothing about where the page will rank or whether an assistant will cite it. The article workspace tour covers every panel.

Approval and delivery happen in one dialog. Press Publish in the workspace header, choose at least one connected destination, and send the article. On the Free plan, or when nothing is connected, press Export instead: Copy formatted for visual editors, Markdown, HTML, or a Content package with images.

What to do this week

• Open the Site report from the Home header and work through the Recommendations tab. Site-wide fixes like structured data and llms.txt move the readiness scores more than any single article.
• Save three or four ideas with the star so the Saved ideas panel has a shortlist. Plan one on the calendar if a date helps you remember. The date is a reminder only.
• Generate one article a day rather than a batch. Credits reset per UTC calendar month and only completed articles count, so there is no reason to rush.
• Connect a destination under Connections if you are on a paid plan, or settle on one export format that fits your CMS.
• Add a few documents or URLs to the Knowledge Base so the next drafts can cite your own material instead of public sources only.
