On this page

Billing is one page. It reaches Razorpay for checkout, mandates and refunds; everything else it shows is Serpio's own record.

Header and currency

The header says the checkout is Razorpay-secured and that the price shown is the exact monthly amount charged. Under it, before your first subscription, sits Bill in: with INR (₹) and USD ($). Leave both untouched and Serpio detects your country: India gets INR, everywhere else USD. Pick one to override, and an auto link appears to return to detection. Once a subscription is active the toggle disappears; the currency is locked to that subscription for its lifetime, including plan changes.

INR prices are all-inclusive: GST is inside the number and nothing is added at checkout. The upgrade dialog labels the charge All-inclusive total for that reason. USD prices carry no tax and apply to customers outside India.

Plans and their actions

The Plans section repeats the four tiers with monthly prices and the line "Switch anytime. Upgrades prorate; downgrades take effect next cycle."

Your stateButtonWhat happens
On this tierCurrent planNothing to do.
No active subscriptionUpgrade to Starter (or Growth, Scale)Opens Razorpay Checkout for a new mandate. Closing it shows "Checkout closed. No subscription was created."
Paid, choosing a higher tierUpgrade to growth (the tier id, in lower case)Opens Confirm upgrade with today's charge, the prorated refund of the unused days, and the net. The CTA reads Authorise & pay with the amount.
Paid, choosing a lower tierDowngrade to starterOpens Confirm downgrade: nothing charged today, the switch date, the next charge. The CTA is Schedule switch. You authorise a new mandate so the lower tier renews on its own.
Paid, choosing FreeSwitch to FreeSame as cancelling: access to the end of the cycle, then Free.

A downgrade in INR shows an extra note: setting up a UPI AutoPay mandate triggers a small verification debit, about ₹5 on UPI or ₹2 on cards, that is auto-reversed within 24 hours.

Current subscription

Once you have a subscription, a card above the plans shows the tier, currency and Razorpay subscription ID, a status badge, and three stats: Next billing, Charges so far, and either Auto-renews (Yes) or Ends on with a date.

BadgeMeaning
ActiveEntitled. Your plan features are on.
ActivatingMandate received, Razorpay is finalising.
Retrying paymentAn auto-debit failed and Razorpay is retrying.

Pending checkout, AbandonedA checkout that was opened and not completed. No charge.

Banners you may see

Processing
After checkout you land on Billing with the status processing. The page polls for up to two minutes and toasts Plan activated. when Razorpay confirms. If it does not, you are told to reload in a couple of minutes.
Pending plan change
Inside the subscription card: switching to a named tier on a date, plus either a note that your new mandate is authorised, or a prompt to authorise it before that date so auto-renewal continues.
Retrying
Amber. A recent auto-debit failed and Razorpay is retrying; if retries run out within about 24 hours the plan is paused. Update payment method opens Razorpay's page.
Halted
Red. Retries are exhausted, the subscription is paused and your plan suspended. Update payment method restores access; if Razorpay gave no link, you are asked to email support with the subscription ID.
Scheduled cancel
Your subscription is scheduled to end on a date. Resume subscription asks Razorpay for a new mandate, a one-time step, and your plan continues without a gap.
Refund processing
Green, after an upgrade. Shows the amount, says it typically settles in 5 to 7 business days to the original payment method, and that the invoice status flips to Refunded once your bank confirms.

Below the plans, Invoice history is a table of Date, Plan, Amount, Status and Payment ID, in the billed currency. Statuses are Paid, Partially refunded, Refunded, Failed and Issued. Before your first paid cycle it reads No invoices yet.

Cancelling and refunds

  1. 1

    Scroll to Cancel subscription

The Cancel subscription section says you keep access through the end of the current cycle, then move to the Free tier.

  2. 2

    Confirm in the dialog

Cancel subscription? names the exact date, states there will be no further charge, and offers Keep plan or Cancel at cycle end.

  3. 3

    Watch the card

Auto-renews becomes Ends on, and the scheduled-cancel banner appears with Resume subscription.

If a plan change is already scheduled, the section is titled Cancel everything instead and drops you to Free at cycle end rather than switching tiers. The refund policy, in brief:

  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period. Monthly plans are not prorated on cancellation.
  • 14-day money-back guarantee on your first charge on any paid tier: email support with your account email and payment ID for a full refund. Renewal invoices are not refundable.
  • Not refundable: renewals after 14 days, partial-month usage on downgrade or cancellation, and accounts suspended for Terms violations.
  • Requests are reviewed within 3 business days and issued through Razorpay to the original method; funds typically arrive in 7 to 10 business days.
  • Mid-cycle upgrades are prorated automatically by whole days.

The full text is on the refund policy page linked at the bottom of Billing.

What Serpio stores

Card, UPI and bank details never touch Serpio; they live with Razorpay. Serpio keeps its own records: your Razorpay customer ID, each subscription's ID, tier, currency, status and period dates, and invoice rows with amount, payment ID, status and refunds. Your account record has optional fields for a GSTIN, billing name and address, used when supplied. Deleting your account cancels live subscriptions before removing these rows; see Account settings.

Common questions

  • Can I switch from INR to USD later?

Not on an existing subscription. The currency is fixed when the first subscription is created and inherited by every plan change. Cancel, wait for the cycle to end, then subscribe again in the other currency.

  • Why was I charged the full new price on upgrade?

Razorpay cannot change the plan on an existing mandate, so an upgrade starts a new subscription today at the full price and refunds the unused days of the old one automatically. The dialog shows both numbers before you confirm.

  • I closed the Razorpay window. Was anything created?

No. The attempt is marked abandoned and nothing is charged. Choose a plan again to retry.
