How to add a new site

By the end of this guide a site will be analyzed, its content focus confirmed, and its voice saved, so you can generate a first article. The analysis itself runs in the background and usually finishes in a few minutes. Guided setup takes about five minutes of your attention. No paid plan is needed for the first site.

Before you start

• Have the bare domain ready, for example acme.com. Serpio adds https:// for you and rejects addresses that do not look like a website.
• Make sure the homepage is publicly reachable. Serpio reads public pages only. It does not log in to your CMS and does not read pages behind authentication.
• Know which plan you are on. Each plan includes a number of sites: one on Free and Starter, three on Growth, ten on Scale. Credits are shared across all of them.
• If this is not your first site, open the domain switcher in the top bar. The Add site row at the bottom is the entry point for existing accounts.

Steps

   Enter the address

   New account: on the landing page, type the domain into Your website, e.g. acme.com and press Start free. You sign up first, the address travels with you, and the dashboard shows Preparing your site report while the job starts. Existing account: open the domain switcher, press Add site, and the dashboard shows Add a new site under Step 1 of 2. Type the domain in Website URL.

   Press Analyze site

   The button reads Starting analysis… for a moment, then the screen changes to Step 2 of 2 with the heading Analyzing your website. If the field turns red instead, the message under it explains what is wrong with the address.

   Watch the rail, or leave

   Six icons labelled Connect, Discover, Review, Score, Synthesize, and Done light up in turn, and the status line cycles from Connecting to site through Finalizing. A preview card fills in with the site's name and icon under Live scan. You can switch sites or close the tab. The footer confirms the analysis continues in the background.

   Meet your site

   When the job completes, Home becomes a three-step setup. The first screen is Here's what we learned about your site. with four tiles: Pages synced, SEO score, AI citation, and Readiness. Read the summary, then press Review content focus.

   Review focus

   You see Review your content focuses with a primary focus and up to two secondary ones. Each has a Content cluster, a Specific content focus name, and Seed keywords. Edit anything that is wrong, then press Confirm & prepare ideas. If a focus lacks a name or keywords, the screen says Add a name and at least one keyword for every content focus.

   Your voice

   The heading reads How should Serpio sound? Answer 1. Who is this for? in one sentence, add at least one cue under 2. How should it sound?, and optionally list topics under 3. What should it never mention? Press Save & continue.

   Finish

   The last screen says You're all set and offers Generate my first article, which opens Articles with the generate dialog ready, or Go to dashboard, which opens Home with the Idea workbench preparing its first ideas.

What happens next

The new site becomes the active site. Its name shows in the top bar after Working on, and every sidebar section now refers to it. In the background, Serpio queues a site index crawl for brand context and internal linking, and starts preparing ideas for each confirmed focus. The Idea workbench on Home reads Preparing your first 10 ideas until enough pass the relevance and evidence checks. Nothing is generated until you ask for it. Open Site Report in the sidebar to read the full analysis while you wait.

If something looks off

• The sidebar is greyed out and hovering shows Available once site analysis finishes. The analysis is still running. Home stays open so you can watch it.
• Home shows We couldn't finish analyzing your-domain. The job failed. Press Retry analysis to start a fresh one. The domain switcher marks the site Analysis failed until it succeeds.
• The first setup screen shows Needs your review. The homepage could not be fetched or returned very little. Check for bot protection or a restrictive robots.txt, fill in the focuses by hand, and re-analyze later from Workspace settings.
• The Generate article dialog's button reads Confirm content focus instead of Generate. The focus was never confirmed. Return to Review focus and press Confirm & prepare ideas.
• You entered a domain and landed on a site you already had. Serpio matched the host to an existing site rather than creating a duplicate. Use Re-analyze on that site's settings page for fresh results.
