Once a site is analyzed and set up, Home is where you spend most of your time. This tour goes clockwise: the top bar, the sidebar, then each region of Home. Labels are quoted as they appear on screen.
Top bar
The top bar is fixed and deliberately small. On the left is the Serpio logo, which returns you to Home, and the domain switcher. The switcher shows Working on with the active site's icon, name, and focus. Open it to see every site with a status line: Analyzing, Analysis failed, or Ready to review when setup is unfinished. A small green dot marks sites with a publishing destination connected. The last row is Add site. When any site needs attention the switcher's border turns amber.
On the right is your avatar. It opens Account settings, Billing, and Sign out. There is no generate button and no profile control in the top bar itself. Generation starts from Home, Articles, or an idea tile, and brand settings live under the sidebar's Site heading.
Sidebar
| Heading | Item | What it opens |
|---|---|---|

| Workspace | Articles | Every draft, approved, published, and failed article, with filters and the generate dialog. See Generating an article. |
| Workspace | Calendar | Planned ideas, automated slots and generated articles on one timeline. See Calendar and cadence. |
| Workspace | Scheduler | Choose articles per day and publishing days; Serpio handles the timing. |
| Workspace | Knowledge Base | Documents and URLs Serpio can cite. See Knowledge Base overview. |
| Workspace | Brand Book | The generated brand document, paid plans only. See Brand Book overview. |
| Workspace | Connections | Publishing destinations and their delivery modes. See Publishing overview. |
| Site | Site Report | Overview, Recommendations, and Audit details for the active site. |
| Site | Settings | Content strategy, brand voice, target audience, publishing, and connections for the active site. See Workspace settings tour. |
A Channels heading appears below once at least one destination is connected. It lists each connection with a status dot and ends with Add another. At the bottom sits the plan card: Free plan, Starter plan, and so on, with N of M articles remaining, a usage bar, and a Details toggle that lists usage per site. Free accounts also see an Upgrade link. On small screens the sidebar collapses behind a menu button in the top bar.
Home: header and counts
The header reads Content workspace with today's date and the site name. To the right are Site report and Generate now. If setup is incomplete, Generate now is replaced by Finish setup. Beneath the header, four counters link into Articles and Calendar: To review (draft articles), Approved (ready for delivery), Sent (published in the last 7 days), and Saved ideas (calendar and backlog). The counts come from your latest 100 articles.
A notice strip appears in three situations. Before setup: Give your writer the right starting point with a Complete setup link. When a generation failed: N articles need attention with Review issues. Before your first article: Your first article starts with an idea.
Home: Idea workbench
The Idea workbench is the largest panel. Its header shows a Saved count that jumps to the shortlist and a Refresh button. A banner explains the three moves: Explore, Shortlist, Create. On first use it reads Preparing your first 10 ideas with a progress line such as 3 of 10 ideas ready · Updates automatically.
- Each tile shows a title, a short description, and up to two keyword tags. The star saves the idea to your shortlist. Use idea opens the generate dialog with the topic pre-filled. Tiles you have already used read Used once or Used N times and the button becomes Use again.
- Clicking a title opens Idea details with the full brief, Generate article, Plan idea for a calendar date, and More details for the angle, reader benefit, brand fit, supporting sources, and search keywords.
- When the pool is empty the panel says why: Review your content focus before confirmation, Your idea pool is being prepared during research, or No new eligible ideas yet when nothing passed the relevance and evidence checks. Enter your own topic is always available once setup is done.
Ten tiles show per page. How the idea feed works explains where ideas come from.
Home: recent articles and workspace controls
Recent articles lists the four most recently touched articles with a status chip (Draft, Approved, Publishing, Sent, Rejected, Failed), the SEO and GEO scores when available, and a View all link. The right-hand column is labelled workspace controls and holds four cards.
- Saved ideas
- Your shortlist. Each entry shows Saved or Planned with a date, a remove button, and Use idea. The footer link is Open calendar & backlog.
- Scheduled delivery
- Explains that manually generated articles always wait for Publish, then lists up to three connections tagged Automatic or Review first. Use Manage to change a destination's scheduled behavior. See manual and scheduled publishing.
- Writing credits
- N of M articles used, a progress bar labelled Monthly writing credits used, and the caption Shared across your sites. Used when you generate an article. When the limit is reached it reads You've used this period's credits. Your ideas are still available to plan. View plan opens Billing. Only completed articles consume credits.
- Your writing context
- Two chips that summarise readiness: an idea status such as 12 ideas ready or Content focus needs review, and Voice defined or Voice needed. The link reads Review brand context when setup is done and Finish brand setup when it is not.
The Finish setting up strip
If you pressed Review later during setup, Home shows a strip above the workspace: Finish setting up your-site with the note that your progress is saved and a Resume setup button that reopens the step you left. The domain switcher marks the site Ready to review, the header shows Finish setup, and Use idea buttons stay disabled until the focus is confirmed and a voice is saved. Nothing is lost by waiting.
Common questions
Why are most sidebar items greyed out?
They unlock when the active site's analysis completes. Hovering shows Available once site analysis finishes. Home stays open so you can watch progress.
Where is the button to generate an article?
In the Home header, labelled Generate now, and inside every idea tile as Use idea. Articles and Calendar also have generate buttons. The top bar itself has none.
Does the credits panel count per site?
No. Credits are per account and per UTC calendar month, shared across all your sites. The sidebar plan card has a Details toggle that breaks usage down by site.
