On this page

Each site in Serpio has one settings page. It lives under the Site group in the sidebar as Settings, at /domains/<id>, and it is locked until the site's first analysis finishes. The header reads Workspace settings, names the site, and states the job in one line: control what Serpio writes, who it writes for, and how drafts are published.

  • The left rail lists Settings sections: Content strategy, Brand voice, Target audience, Publishing, Connections. Below them, in small type: Changes apply only to this domain.
  • The page always shows the active site. If you open a bookmarked settings URL for a different site, Serpio redirects to the one selected in the top bar. Switch sites first, then open Settings.
  • Nothing saves until you press Save changes, the button pinned to the bottom right. It reads Saving… while working and Saved for two seconds afterwards.

Content strategy

The card describes itself as content focuses, their clusters, and target keywords, which Serpio uses to prepare and rank relevant ideas. A banner at the top tells you where you stand.

BannerWhat it means
Content focus confirmedYou have saved your focuses at least once. Saving again refreshes the focus mapping and keeps shared idea pools aligned.
Content focus needs reviewDetected values are only suggestions. Idea preparation stays off until you save them. A Guided review link takes you through the setup flow.

Content focuses is where you set one primary and up to two secondary focuses. Each may use its own content cluster and needs a name and at least one keyword. If the list is empty you see Add your primary content focus. Saving with a nameless or keyword-less focus fails with "Add a name and at least one keyword for every content focus." Read Reviewing content focus for how focuses drive the idea feed.

Brand voice

Card description: injected into every article prompt; forbidden topics are blocked server-side. Three numbered questions follow.

1. Who is this for?
One sentence describing the reader. The placeholder is an example: indie SaaS founders who don't have time for agency content. An examples menu on the right offers a few more.
2. How should it sound?
Chips. Type a cue and press comma or Tab, or pick from the preset menu: warm, direct, no jargon, data-driven, conversational, authoritative, playful, first-person, short sentences, technical. Each cue needs two or more characters and at least one letter.
3. What should it never mention?
Chips again. Drafts that include these topics get rejected automatically. Presets: competitors by name, politics, speculation, pricing claims, medical advice. Be specific; the page warns that vague values like "no" cannot be matched against draft copy.

Voice cues and forbidden topics also seed the Brand Book brief. Setting them here first saves typing there.

Target audience

Marked optional. It helps Serpio sharpen tone, examples and references. Four controls:

  • Geo regions: pick from a fixed list of regions and countries. Free text is not allowed here so targeting stays consistent.
  • Age range: pill buttons from 18 to 24 up to 65+, plus Mixed. Pick every bracket that fits; leave empty for any.
  • Gender: Any, All, Mostly male, Mostly female, Non-binary, Mixed.
  • Interests: affinity tags, typed or picked from presets such as tech & AI, parenting or personal finance. Invalid tags are dropped when saving.

With nothing set, a small italic note says none set yet and Serpio will write to a general audience.

Publishing

Two controls. Where is your blog published? is a select grouped into Native connection, Guided export and Other, defaulting to Not answered. The helper text says Serpio uses this to recommend the right publishing destination and export format. Choosing a platform here connects nothing; connections are made on the Connections page.

Scheduled delivery is configured per destination in Connections. Manually generated articles always wait for you to click Publish. For scheduler-created articles, each connection can either Review before sending or Send automatically. Read manual and scheduled publishing for the complete behavior.

Connections

This section is a handoff card, not the full manager. It says: manage every channel for this domain in one place, connect, disconnect, see what's queued, and review what's already published. If any channel is active it adds Currently connected with a count. Open Connections takes you to the dedicated page.

Re-analyze

The Re-analyze button in the header runs the site analysis again for this domain and refreshes the profile when it finishes. The button reads Analyzing… while it runs. This is the crawl that the Brand Book deliberately does not do. Use it when the site itself has changed; see When to re-analyze.

Common questions

  • Where did the connections settings go?

To their own page. Connections in the sidebar manages channels for the active site. The settings page keeps a short card that links there.

  • Does saving here trigger a re-analysis?

No. Save changes writes your profile. Re-analyze is a separate action that crawls the site again.

  • Can I set a different voice for each content focus?

No. Voice, audience and forbidden topics apply to the whole site. Focuses only decide topics and keywords.
