How to save and schedule ideas

By the end you will have a shortlist in Saved ideas and a few of those ideas sitting on the Content calendar as reminders. It takes a few minutes and works on every plan. Nothing here spends a credit.

Before you start

• Your content focus is confirmed. Saving is blocked until it is, and the workbench shows Review your content focus instead of tiles.
• The Saved ideas panel on Home has finished loading. While it reads Loading saved ideas…, stars are disabled so Serpio can rule out duplicates first.
• Know the difference: saving keeps an idea with no date, planning keeps it with a date. Both stay when you come back.

Steps

   Star the ideas you like

   On a tile, hover the star to see Save for later, then click it. The star fills, a toast reads Idea saved to your shortlist, and the Saved count in the workbench header goes up by one.

   Check the panel

   Scroll to Saved ideas in the right-hand column, or click the Saved button in the workbench header to jump there. Each entry shows the title, a line such as Saved Sep 20, a Use idea button and a small cross.

   Plan one with a date

   Open a tile's Idea details and press Plan idea. The Schedule idea dialog opens with the prompt Choose when you want this idea to appear on your content calendar. and seven day buttons: Today, Tomorrow and the five days after, labelled by weekday.

   Confirm the date

   Press Add to calendar for tomorrow, or whichever day you picked. The toast reads Idea saved to Sep 21 and the panel entry now says Planned Sep 21. If the automated pipeline is active, the dialog explains that the next scheduled slot that day will use this idea first; otherwise the date remains a planning reminder.

   Give feedback on the misses

   In Idea details, expand Give feedback on this idea. Choose Not relevant, Already covered, Weak supporting evidence or Wrong audience, then press Send feedback. You should see Feedback saved for this brand's future ideas.

   Remove what you no longer want

   Click the cross beside a saved entry, or click its filled star on the tile, now labelled Remove from saved ideas. The toast reads Removed from saved ideas and the entry is gone.

What happens next

Saved ideas leave the workbench after your next Refresh, because Serpio treats them as covered. Planned ideas appear in amber on the Content calendar on the date you chose; undated ones stay in the panel as your backlog. Ideas you gave negative feedback on drop out of future collections for this site. When you are ready to write, press Use idea in the panel and follow How to create an article from an idea. On the calendar you can drag a planned idea to another day, or open it and press Remove from calendar.

If something looks off

• The star does nothing and looks faded. Either your focus is unconfirmed or the saved list is still loading. Wait for Saved ideas to finish, or complete setup.
• The panel reads Saved ideas couldn't be loaded. Press Retry saved ideas. Until it loads, planning is paused and the details dialog says Saved ideas couldn't be checked. Retry before planning.
• You wanted a date further out than seven days. Plan it for any offered day, then drag it to the right day on the calendar.
• A saved idea vanished on its own. An article written from it has completed, so Serpio marked it as used. Find the draft in Articles.
• You removed an idea but it came back in the feed. Removing does not suppress an idea. Send feedback with Not relevant or Already covered instead.
