How to use the calendar

By the end you will be able to read the Content calendar at a glance, distinguish planned ideas from automated slots, and move an idea to another day. Planned dates are reminders while automation is paused; when it is active, the next slot on that day consumes the planned idea first.

Before you start

• You have at least one planned idea or one generated article. Otherwise the page shows Nothing on the calendar yet with Pick ideas and Generate now shortcuts.
• Planned ideas get their date when you save them with Plan idea. See How to save and schedule ideas.
• Rescheduling is drag and drop, so a mouse or trackpad is easiest.

Steps

   Open the calendar

   Choose Calendar in the sidebar. The heading reads Content calendar and the timeline combines planned ideas, violet automated slots, drafts, approvals and published articles.

   Read the summary strip

   Above the grid you see counts for Articles, Picked ideas and active schedule slots, plus filters including Scheduled. Filters only hide items; they never move them.

   Read the grid

   Weeks run Monday to Sunday and today is highlighted. Violet items are automated slots, amber items are planned ideas and drafts, indigo items are approved articles, green items are published ones, and grey items are rejected or failed.

   Move between periods

   Switch Month and Week at the top right. The arrows step one month or one week, and Today returns you to now. Week view gives every item more room.

   Open a planned idea

   Click an amber idea. A dialog labelled Idea shows its Angle, Planning date, Source and Keywords, plus the note This is a planning reminder only. Its only action is Remove from calendar.

   Reschedule by dragging

   Drag the idea to another day. The target day highlights as you hover, and a toast confirms Idea rescheduled to Sep 24 when you drop it.

   Act on a planned day

   With automation active, the next configured slot on that day writes from the planned idea automatically. To write sooner, go to Home, find it in Saved ideas, and press Use idea. Full manual steps are in How to create an article from an idea.

   Open an article

   Click any article item to open it in the article workspace. Drafts sit on the day they were generated, approved articles on the day they were approved, published ones on the day they went out.

What happens next

When a manual or automated draft is saved, its planned idea is marked as used and the draft appears in amber. Approving moves it to indigo and publishing to green, so one article never appears twice. If automation is paused, a planned idea stays where it is until you write, drag or remove it.

If something looks off

• A saved idea is missing from the calendar. It has no date. Only ideas planned with Plan idea appear; undated ideas live in Saved ideas on Home as your backlog.
• To fill an upcoming automated slot, click Content to be decided. Choose a saved or suggested idea, or write a topic for that exact time. Ideas already placed on a date can still be dragged to another day.
• Dragging did not stick and a toast says the reschedule failed. Try again. The idea keeps its old date until the change succeeds.
• An article shows on a different day than you expected. Articles use the date of their current status, not the day you planned the idea.
• The grid shows placeholder bars for a long time. The page loads articles and saved ideas together. Wait a moment, or reload once.
