Chapter 01 · How-to guides
How to use the Site Report
Open the report, read the two scores, work through the high-priority fixes, check the evidence, start an article from a content idea, and know when to re-analyze.
Updated Sep 20, 2026 · 5 min read
You will end up with both readiness scores read, the highest-priority fixes handed to the right person with steps attached, the evidence behind them checked, and a first article started from a topic found on your own site. A first pass takes about fifteen minutes.
Before you start
- A site added to Serpio with its analysis finished. If Site Report in the sidebar is greyed out, the analysis is still running. See How to add a new site.
- Access to whoever can change the site's templates, headers, or CMS. Serpio explains fixes; it does not apply them.
- Your content focus confirmed, if you want to start an article in step seven. Otherwise Use topic sends you to setup first.
Steps
- 1
Open the report
From Home, click Site report in your site's panel, or click Site Report under Site in the sidebar. Workspace settings also links to it via Site settings. You should see the title Site Report, your site name, a Last analyzed date, and three tabs: Overview, Recommendations, and Audit details.
- 2
Read the two score cards
On Overview, the Search & AI readiness section shows Search readiness and AI citation readiness, each out of 100 and labelled Strong, Good, Needs work, or Critical. A dash with Not enough data means the sample was too thin. A line above the cards says how many pages were sampled.
- 3
Expand About these scores
Click About these scores under the cards. You should see what each score checks and the sentence that these are audit scores from the sampled pages, not live traffic, rankings, or measured AI citations.
- 4
Open Recommendations and filter to High priority
Click the Recommendations tab. The heading reads Recommended fixes. Click the High priority chip. You should see only the findings that affect most pages, grouped by area such as Site health or Search engines, each group with a count.
- 5
Expand a fix and follow How to fix it
Click a row or its View fix label. You should see a plain-English paragraph, a Recommended change, an Audit finding with evidence, and a numbered How to fix it list with links to official documentation. Copy the steps and links into a ticket for the owner. Hide fix collapses the row.
- 6
Check Audit details for the evidence
Click the Audit details tab. You should see five collapsed sections with a badge each: Site health, Search engines (SEO), AI citation readiness, Local & regional, and Tech basics. Expand Site health to reach Evidence to inspect, where each finding opens to Why it matters, Fix, and Owner.
- 7
Start an article from a content idea
Back on Overview, expand Content ideas at the bottom. Each idea shows a title, a target keyword, and why it can work. Click Use topic on one. You should see the generation form open with the topic filled in. Submit it to start the job. See How to create an article from an idea.
- 8
Re-analyze after the fixes are deployed
Once the owner has shipped the High priority changes, open Site settings and click Re-analyze in the top-right corner. The button shows a progress state while it runs. Back on Site Report, the Last analyzed date has updated and cleared findings are gone from Recommendations.
What happens next
The report does not change on its own. It stays a snapshot until you press Re-analyze, so the fix list holds still while the owner works through it. Batch several changes and re-analyze once; the sample is small. Your first article moves through Plan, Research, Write, and Finish on the articles page and lands as a draft for your review.
If something looks off
- The page says No site report available yet. The analysis has not completed. Click Open site settings and press Re-analyze.
- An amber strip says Serpio is showing your saved report and could not refresh it. Click Retry refresh. The saved report stays readable.
- A score card shows a dash. Not enough pages were sampled, usually because no sitemap was found. Publish a sitemap, then re-analyze.
- Use topic opens setup instead of the generation form. Your content focus is not confirmed. Complete Review content setup and come back.
- A fixed item still appears after Re-analyze. Check the exact URLs listed in Audit details, and confirm the change is live on the registered domain rather than a staging host.
Go deeper
- Reading your Site Report: every card on the Overview tab and what the scores do not measure.
- Working through the Recommendations tab: the common audit codes translated, and who usually owns each fix.
- Audit details, section by section: all five evidence sections and where their data comes from.
- When to re-analyze your site: what a new analysis refreshes, what it leaves alone, and the separate site index recrawl.
Common questions
Do I need to fix everything before writing articles?
No. Hand the High priority items to whoever owns the site and start drafting from a content idea the same day. The two run in parallel.
Does Re-analyze use credits?
No. Credits count completed articles only. Reading the report and running a new analysis are free on every plan.
Why do the numbers differ from last month's report?
Each analysis samples up to about seven pages, and the sample can change. Small movements without site changes are sampling noise, not progress.
