Chapter 01 · How-to guides
How to change workspace settings
Open a site's settings, adjust content focuses, brand voice, target audience and publishing, save once, and know when Re-analyze is the right tool. About ten minutes on any plan.

By the end you will have a saved profile for one site: what Serpio writes about, how it sounds, who it writes for, and how drafts reach your blog. Ten minutes if you know your audience. Any plan, including Free. Everything here belongs to one site; if you run several, repeat it per site.
Before you start
- Select the site in the top bar. The settings page always shows the active site and redirects if you open another site's URL.
- Analysis must have finished. Settings in the sidebar is greyed out until then.
- Nothing saves until you press Save changes. One button covers the whole page, so finish every section before you press it.
- Have your reader in one sentence and three to five voice cues ready. Writing them here first also pre-fills the Brand Book brief.
Steps
- 1
Open Settings
In the sidebar's Site group, click Settings. The header reads Workspace settings with the site name. A rail on the left lists Settings sections and ends with Changes apply only to this domain.
- 2
Read the Content strategy banner
Green Content focus confirmed means your focuses are saved and idea preparation is on. Amber Content focus needs review means the detected values are only suggestions and idea preparation stays off until you save them; a Guided review link opens the setup flow.
- 3
Edit your content focuses
Under Content focuses, keep one primary and up to two secondary focuses. Each needs a name and at least one keyword. If the list is empty, click Add your primary content focus.
- 4
Set the Brand voice
Answer 1. Who is this for? in one sentence. Under 2. How should it sound? type cues and press comma or Tab, or pick presets such as warm, direct or no jargon. Under 3. What should it never mention? add forbidden topics; drafts that include them are rejected automatically.
- 5
Describe the Target audience (optional)
Pick Geo regions from the fixed list, tap Age range brackets, choose a Gender skew, and add Interests. Leave it all empty and a note says Serpio will write to a general audience.
- 6
Answer the Publishing questions
Where is your blog published? is a select grouped into Native connection, Guided export and Other. It only shapes recommendations; it connects nothing. Scheduled delivery is configured separately for each saved connection.
- 7
Check the Connections card
It shows Currently connected with a count when any channel is active, and an Open Connections button. Connecting happens on that page, not here.
- 8
Click Save changes
Bottom right. The button reads Saving… then Saved. If a focus is missing a name or keyword, a red message says "Add a name and at least one keyword for every content focus." and nothing is saved.
- 9
Use Re-analyze only when the site changed
The Re-analyze button in the header crawls the site again and reads Analyzing… while it runs. Use it after a redesign or a new product page, not to fix a setting.
What happens next
Your voice, audience and forbidden topics join every article prompt from the next generation. Saving focuses for the first time turns idea preparation on for the site. Re-analyze refreshes the detected side of the profile: brand name, colour, favicon, scores, brand understanding and voice suggestions. Once you have confirmed your content focuses, a re-analysis leaves them alone; it also leaves your saved voice, audience, publishing answers, connections and Brand Book untouched. To carry a new crawl into the Brand Book, regenerate it afterwards.
If something looks off
- Settings is greyed out in the sidebar. The site's analysis has not finished, or no site is selected. Wait for the report on Home, then try again.
- The URL changes to a different id when you open a bookmark. The page snapped to the active site. Switch sites in the top bar, then open Settings.
- Save changes fails with the focus message. Every focus needs a name and at least one keyword; fix the empty one.
- A cue or interest disappears after saving. Each needs two or more characters and at least one letter; anything else is dropped.
- A scheduled article was not delivered automatically. Confirm the connection is active and Scheduled articles is set to Send automatically; see manual and scheduled publishing.
- Re-analyze changed nothing you typed. That is by design. It refreshes detected data only.

Common questions
Do settings apply to all my sites?
No. Every value here belongs to one site. Plan and credits are account-level and live on Billing.
Does saving here trigger a re-analysis?
No. Save changes writes your profile. Re-analyze is a separate action that crawls the site again.
Will Re-analyze overwrite my content focuses?
Not once you have saved them. Detected focuses are only written while the site is still unconfirmed.
