Chapter 01 · How-to guides
How to manage your account
Change your photo and display name, save, send yourself a password reset, sign out, and delete the account if you must, with every consequence spelled out. A few minutes on any plan.

By the end you will have your profile the way you want it, know how a password reset works, and understand exactly what Delete account removes. Each task takes a minute or two; deletion is permanent, so read that step twice. Any plan.
Before you start
- Have a PNG, JPEG or WebP photo under 2 MB if you want one.
- Know that the email field is read-only. Changing it means contacting support.
- If you intend to delete the account, export the articles you need first and request any refund you are owed before you start.
Steps
- 1
Open Account
Open the profile menu in the top bar and click Account settings. The page is headed My account with four cards: Profile, Plan, Security and Danger zone.
- 2
Change your photo
In Profile, click Upload photo and pick a file. The small print reads "PNG, JPEG, or WebP. 2 MB max." The new photo appears at once. Remove clears it when you save.
- 3
Edit your display name
Type into Display name. Up to 80 characters; it cannot be blank.
- 4
Click Save changes
The button at the bottom is disabled until something changed. It reads Saving… then Saved. Only the profile uses this button; everything else on the page acts immediately.
- 5
Send a password reset
In Security, click Send reset email. The page confirms "Reset email sent to" your address. The link in the email expires after one hour. There is no in-page password form.
- 6
Sign out
Click Sign out. Your session on this device ends and you land on the sign-in page. Other devices stay signed in.
- 7
Delete the account (only if you mean it)
In Danger zone, click Delete account. A dialog lists three consequences: your sign-in email and password will be removed; all domains, articles, schedules, knowledge-base entries, and channel connections you own will be deleted; your Serpio account cannot be recovered. Type your email in the field labelled Type your address to confirm; the red Delete account button enables only when it matches. It reads Deleting…, then you are signed out and returned to the home page.
What happens next
Profile changes show wherever your name and photo appear inside Serpio. A reset email arrives at your sign-in address; ignoring it changes nothing. Deletion cancels any live Razorpay subscription first so you are not debited again, then removes every site and everything under it: Brand Books, Knowledge Base items, ideas, publishing history and invoices. It does not issue a refund, and it does not delete posts Serpio already published to your CMS.
If something looks off
- The photo is refused. The file is not PNG, JPEG or WebP, or it is over 2 MB; the message under the button says which.
- Save changes stays disabled. Nothing differs from what is saved; edit the name or photo first.
- Saving fails with "Display name can't be empty." Type a name.
- No reset email arrives. Check spam, then send again; each link lasts one hour.
- You want to change your email. Contact support; the field is read-only by design.
- The red Delete account button stays disabled. The typed text does not match your sign-in email. Case does not matter.

Common questions
Can I recover a deleted account?
No. The dialog says it is permanent, and it is.
Does deleting my account refund my subscription?
No. It cancels the subscription so no further charge happens. Request any refund you are owed before deleting.
Does signing out affect my other devices?
No. Sign out ends the session on the current device only.
